Yummy home made baby food

The awareness about all the deadly things that people now put into all sort of food items, so that they get high profits , have made our family think what we can do to protect our little ones from eating these slow poisons..our son who is seven year old is now well aware of good and bad foods.. It took us along time to set his mind this way..He knows very well to say no to all sort of ready made snacks and colas and fruit drinks. Now its up to us again to train our little one too...she is just 10 months and we don't want her to eat the ready made packed baby food which are available in the market..

so here you go .

Take half cup cooked rice, half cup daal(lentils) and one large potato diced, a pinch of salt and a pinch of turmeric in a pressure cooker with a little water for cooking. Cook for about 5-6 whistles. Now grind them to a paste. Your little one will definitely love this food. Try to feed before the food gets cold.

This is just one of her food ...will be posting more..

easy vada

Hi guys!!

I was wondering what I will give my son when he returns from school. I knew he would be sad if I gave him the left over idlis from the days breakfast ..that's when I thought of the makeover.. why not convert them to delicious vadas..

So this is how it's done.

Ingredients -

Idlis - 5 numbers
Rava/ sooji-2 table spoon
Green chillies -3nos
Ginger -half inch
Curry leaves - 5
Chopped onion -3table spoon
Salt to taste
Oil to fry

Method-

In a grinder mix all the ingredients except oil. Add a little water if you feel it's very tight. Make round patties like the regular vadas, make a hole in the centre. Deep fry on  a low flame. Delicious vadas are ready. Can be served with sambar or chutney..
